Tung oil boiled with linseed oil, linseed oil stand oil and siccatives.
For interior and exterior use.
TUNG wood oil varnish dries significantly faster and harder than a linseed oil varnish. The surface is initially matt glossy. It is used as a finishing varnish on linseed oil primers, as it swells less with water and has better UV resistance than a linseed oil varnish. It is very suitable for maintaining all types of hardwoods. The formerly well-known Eburit hard drying oil is based on the same ingredients as our wood oil varnish.
Application
On its own or as a top coat, indoors and outdoors, if necessary dilute with balsamic turpentine or citrus terpene for deeper penetration.
· If possible, prime exterior wood first with linseed oil without siccative, then paint as often as necessary until the wood is no longer absorbent
· Remove excess wood varnish after approx. 1 hour with a cloth or brush
· Only wipe interior wood with a lint-free cloth. Thick coats take significantly longer to dry and the odour lasts longer
· Low humidity and sunlight accelerate oxidation and the linseed oil sets faster
· Use of wood varnish, linseed oil and tung wood oil products indoors
· Linseed oil and tung wood oil products develop the typical odour when drying (oxidising). This is not a defect. Depending on processing (low temperatures, little UV light, high humidity, thick layers, unclean application), this odour can persist for a long time or even months. Linseed oil will only dry very slowly inside a cupboard in a cool, damp and dark cellar. No siccative will help, only a place in the sun.
Note: Always ensure good ventilation.
CAUTION: Self-ignition possible with e.g. cleaning cloths - dry or burn contaminated cleaning cloths under supervision.
